Parking

The nearest public car park is at St Helen's Wharf

We offer a drop off service to enable participants to offload their craft and move their vehicle to a public car park. We only have a limited amount of space for valuables and paddleboard bags
PLEASE note that participants are not allowed to park in the pub carpark
We suggest you offload your craft at least 1 hour before the event to give yourself enough time to park and return to the start point. To then, check in with the Time Lord, we deliver our Safety Briefing from the bridge when participants are on the water.

The slipway down to the river is steep but is concrete with the grass either side.
The River Wensum is tidal and this affects the entry and exit points at both low and high tide

There is no dedicated Accessible Toilet

There is no parking at The Red Lion Bishopgate Pub, but AquaPaddlers will be able to drop off their Boats and SUPs at the pub and then drive to a local car park. There is a 5-minute walk along the river from here. We suggest you drop off your craft at least 1 hour before the event to give yourself enough time to park and walk back to the start. To then, check in with the Time Lord and attend the Safety Briefing, which is half an hour before the event.

Refreshments

There is an amazing outdoor nature café The Lions' Den River, selling great coffee and toasties. Come and enjoy a hot / cold drink or relax afterwards to compare notes and make new friends. The pub is a great alternative if you are wanting a more substantial meal.
