Foremark (Burton)

AquaPaddle Foremark is located on the Foremark Reservoir, the home of Burton Sailing Club.

The Reservoir is a great place to paddle. Burton Sailing Club offers excellent facilities amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

The reservoir covers some 230 acres and is AquaPaddle Burton's alternate location when the River Trent is in spate and un-paddleable.
We have permission to be on the water before the Club's racing kicks off, so need to be clear of the water at around 10:30am
Rules are slightly different to being on the river. We can only launch when the safety boat is out, and the course will depend on the wind conditions on the day, so make sure you're there for the briefing!
The course is likely to be several laps of one of the sheltered bay areas, so it should be suitable for all paddler abilities.

AquaPaddle Foremark, located at Burton Sailing Club.
Please be aware that some navigation apps (including Google) direct drivers to a locked gate and not the Sailing Club.
The Sailing Club is accessed from Repton Road between Milton and Ticknall. There is a gated driveway with signs for the Sailing Club.
What 3 words for the main entrance gate location are: ///helpfully.onwards.commuting

Follow the drive up below the dam, and parking overlooking the water is the third road on the left: ///opts.recital.dictation
Please be aware, the water is predominantly used for the Sailing Club for racing on Sundays, so please keep your boards clear of the slipways and look out for others on the water. There is a grass area in front of the parking to blow up boards, and a grassy area by the shore for launching.

Burton Sailing Club is situated between Derby, Burton on Trent, Nottingham and Leicester, with the A38 to the West, A50 to the North, M1 to the East, and M42 to the South.

Burton Sailing Clubhouse will be open for refreshments after the event.

The clubhouse includes a fully fitted galley (kitchen) and male and female changing rooms with hot showers. Wi-Fi, television and a well-stocked bar with wet and dry lounge areas.
