London Calling

As far as I can recall, we have never been in a book. We have had articles written about us, but never a grown-up book. Well, now we have, and it is a most excellent book.
“Paddle London” by Anu Aladin (@mysupstories), published by Bloomsbury in April 2026, is a new guidebook that opens up London’s waterways for paddlers. That’s all paddlers. With 40 routes within an hour of our wonderful Capital, it shows you don’t need a car, a van or a trip to the coast to get on the water. Many routes are reachable by public transport. The book includes short outings, half-day trips and full-day adventures, all supported by clear maps, launch and exit points, safety guidance, portage details, and notes on licences and kit.

Across more than 360km of waterways, the routes cover the tidal and non-tidal Thames, including our original AquaPaddle location at Hampton-Molesey, as well as London’s canals, navigations and a selection of lesser-known waterways. Expect a mix of tranquil backwaters, historic landmarks and iconic urban views. Each route also includes insights into local history and wildlife, along with listings for paddle providers to help you connect with others. It’s a practical guide for anyone keen to see London from the water.
Just so you know, there are 40 routes in total, of which there are 15 Thames routes, 18 canal routes and 7 other waterways. Click the button below to order your copy. You won’t regret the joy this book will bring you.
