AquaPaddle Kilsyth

Please join us for a FREE non competitive timed 5km paddle on the Forth & Clyde Canal starting and finishing at Auchinstarry Marina. On arrival at the Marina, parking is on the left and right off the road from the roundabout. Look out for the Central Scotland Adventures Blue SUP Shack, you'll meet our Welcome Hosts who are crew in bright orange t-shirts. The Marshall’s will help you and show paddlers the check in desk. Paddlers will be required to carry their kit 100m from the car park to the waters edge. There is a grass bank and jetty to place/launch your boards and craft. Boards can be inflated at the car par or next to the water. There is a drop off point at the jetty for those taking canoes and kayaks off your vehicles, please park your car in the carpark after dropping off your boats. After checking in and kit inspection, paddlers will receive a welcome brief by the AquaPaddle Captain before entering the water. Accessing the water will be done carefully and under control. Please conduct an on water warm up while waiting for all paddlers to get on the water. Once all paddlers are gathered, await the starter marshals instruction and the timing will start on mass. Marshals will be stationed at the marina, at the turnaround point and we will have a non-paddling Marshall on the canal tow path on a bicycle. Ig necessary, there are several egress points on the canal tow path. Please note there is a changing area in the shack and there is a toilet at the Boathouse Hotel. Start and finish in the Marina.
