About
AquaPaddle Ramsgate offers paddlers a unique coastal venue set against the backdrop of one of Kent’s most famous maritime landmarks. As a member of the historic Confederation of Cinque Ports, the seaside town of Ramsgate boasts rich history, elegant Regency architecture, and a microclimate with a distinctly continental feel.
The event launches near the historic harbour area. The Port of Ramsgate and the adjoining Royal Harbour form the focal point of the local waterfront. Granted its unique Royal status by King George IV in 1821, the harbour provides a sheltered gateway out onto the waters of the English Channel and the Thanet coast.
Whether you are building your fitness, training for a coastal event, or looking to enjoy a supportive morning on the water with fellow enthusiasts, AquaPaddle Ramsgate delivers a safe, volunteer-led environment. Parking
Pay-and-display parking is available along Marina Road and Harbour Parade, directly adjacent to the waterfront, as well as at the nearby Leopold Street Multi-Storey car park. Dedicated blue badge parking spaces are located close to the main harbour slipways and launch points to ensure short, flat transition distances for unloading gear. For adaptive paddlers, paved pathways and curb ramps connect the parking zones seamlessly to the launch area.
Refreshments
After completing your 5km, you can unwind at the lively cafes, restaurants, and traditional coffee shops lining the waterfront and the iconic Harbour Arches. Many of these venues feature step-free entrance points, accessible indoor layouts, and wide outdoor seating areas directly overlooking the marina, providing the ideal spot for post-paddle coffee, breakfast, and chatting with fellow participants.
Facilities
The harbour area features well-maintained public toilets, including dedicated accessible facilities equipped with radar key access. Level, wide-paved promenades run along the waterfront, offering smooth, step-free navigation down to the slipways. Blue Space safety volunteers and crew members are available on site to assist adaptive paddlers with equipment handling and water entry where required.
