About
AquaPaddle Inverness is based at Dochgarroch Locks, by the An Talla, Café and Shop, just to the south of Inverness. There is plenty of parking and a good safe launch site. The route is heading north from the lock area towards Inverness through wooded banks and fields. As the route is on the Caledonian Canal it is resistant to the effects of rainfall.
The meeting point is located just to the north of the lock
The route is downstream towards Inverness through beautiful Highland countryside, with view of the distant hills and mountains of the Highlands.
Staring adjacent to the end of the 1st pontoon head East along the canal toward Inverness. At the flag 2.5k along turn round and head back. Simple as that!
Stay to the right of the canal each direction (opposite to driving).
