About
Get ready to paddle in one of Cornwall’s most iconic coastal locations as AquaPaddle heads to Falmouth for a special pop-up event at beautiful Gyllyngvase Beach. Gyllyngvase - affectionately known as “Gylly” - is one of Cornwall’s premier beaches, recognised with Blue Flag status for its pristine water quality, golden sands, and excellent facilities.
Taking place as part of the GBSUP British National Championships, this 5km timed paddle is your chance to be part of a festival of stand-up paddleboarding alongside the UK’s top talent—no pressure, just pure paddling joy. With its sheltered waters, stunning views across Falmouth Bay, and easy access from the town centre, Gylly is the perfect spot to join the AquaPaddle community for a relaxed but rewarding morning on the water.
Whether you're visiting for the championships or a local looking to dip your paddle into something new, Gyllyngvase offers a picturesque and welcoming setting. The beach is known for its golden sand, excellent water quality, and lively marine life. Rock pools along the southern end brim with crabs, shrimp, and sea anemones, while the nearby Queen Mary Gardens provide a peaceful green retreat filled with subtropical plants—ideal for a post-paddle unwind.
As with all AquaPaddle events, this pop-up is free, fun, and focused on wellbeing, bringing together paddlers of all backgrounds and abilities. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive group, taking on the 5km course at your own pace, timed, but never a race. It’s a brilliant way to be active, connect with nature, and share the water with like-minded people. Come and make the most of a fantastic coastal event—bring your board, bring your smile, and we’ll see you on the beach!
