Adapting to Llandegfedd

A couple of weeks ago, the AquaPaddle Pontypool crew temporarily relocated to the beautiful Llangdegfedd reservoir to join the GBSUP event there. Despite the forecast rain, the Welsh weather held out, and we had a great turnout for our 5km. I went along as both part of the Pontypool crew and also as the Adaptive Paddling ambassador for AquaPaddle, and it was a brilliant chance to meet some of the GBSUP team and the sponsors, and to talk about adaptive paddling with them.

Llangdegfedd has a variety of pontoons for getting on the water and great accessible changing facilities, so it’s a really good spot for inclusive paddlesports.

The atmosphere around the event was fantastic, and so many paddlers came over to say Hi and to meet my three month old baby, who was attending her first AquaPaddle. I’m sure in a few years we’ll have her trained up as a Time Lord, or maybe she’ll be on the water herself!
